Local Treatments

With our Local Termite Treatment, we apply a spray that is specifically designed for eliminating termites within the home, targeting specific points of infestation and preventing them from spreading to other locations and establishing new nests. Local treatment is not designed for whole-house eradication, so if your termite issue is too severe or has spread to multiple locations, other solutions may be required.

Preventive Treatments

Our Preventative Termite Treatment is similar to our Local treatment, but its focus is preventing a termite infestation. We use borates to soak deep into wooden material and to act as a barrier to infestation, making your home less palatable for termites seeking an easy source of shelter (and food). Once termites come across wood that has been protected by our borate treatment, they quickly move on to look for different locations to establish a nest.

Termite Warranty

With our Termite Warranty service, you have five years of coverage against termites. After an initial treatment to eradicate and existing infestation, we provide an annual inspection and preventative treatment to make sure termites stay far away! If any termite activity pops up between visits at any time during your 5-year annual coverage, we will come out and perform a local termite treatment at no additional charge!

Wood Repair

During our Termite Wood Repair Service, we remove and replace wood that has been compromised by severe termite activity. Tunneling termites can leave wood structurally unsound and make your home a dangerous place to live in… all without you knowing! Our specialists are adept at identifying areas that have been ravaged by termite infestations, and can perform all sorts of wood repair, and even up to replacing severe structural damage… making your home a safer place to live!

Fumigation

Our Termite Fumigation service is the service most people picture when they think about termite treatments. During a fumigation, the entire structure is tented and fumed in order to reach every nook, cranny, and tunnel in the home. Tenting is usually reserved for only the most severe cases, and as a result almost always done in conjunction with wood repair.

Types of Termites in Southern California

Drywood Termite

As their name suggests, drywood termites like wood with low moisture content. Cooler, drier weather often leads to drywood swarms, which puts your home at risk! They can be quickly identified by their piles of fecal pellets. Drywood termites will devour practically any dry wood they find, from the bottom of your home all the way to the top! They have even been known to “hitchhike” on wooden furniture from one home to the next.

Subterranean Termites

Subterranean termites love moist conditions. Warm weather and heavy rainfall will cause them to swarm out to establish new colonies. Though people sometimes mistake them for “flying ants,” you can easily identify subterranean termites by their “mud tunnels” that they build to connect multiple nests. Subterranean termites are the most common termite nuisance nationwide, and it’s estimated that 1 in 5 homes in the US is infected by subterranean termites.

Termite Questions & Answers

What’s your best tip for keeping termites away?

Probably one of the most effective tips for homeowners to keep termites out is to get rid of any standing sources of water or damp areas near your home. Termites, like other pests (such as roaches, ant ants) will establish a new home based on the availability of food and water. If water is not readily available, they will migrate to a more hospitable environment (hopefully very far away from your home).

How can I tell a termite from a flying ant?

It’s easy to confuse one for the other. The easiest way to identify if it’s a termite or flying ant is to look at three things: the antenna, the wings, and the waistline of the body. A termite has straight antenna, a broad waist, and all wings are the same length. A flying ant, however, has bent antenna, a narrow waist, and their wings are different sizes.

How often should I have an inspection for termites?

Since termites do most of their damage hidden away, it’s important to catch any infestations as quickly as possible so you can avoid a full-scale problem. If you leave termites unattended, it could cost you thousands of dollars in home repair down the line. We recommend having your home inspected about once a year.

Do termites bite?

Fortunately, they don’t. You may not have to worry about termite bites in the case of an infestation, but you do have to worry about structural damage to your home, so the fact that they don’t bite is only minor relief in comparison.

Are termites a bigger problem during the summer or winter?

Termites are, unfortunately, a year-round problem. You’re more likely to actually spot them during the spring because that’s when they swarm, but they’re active around the clock, 365 days a year.
